Catriona joined the Unit in 2020 as Trial Manager for the NIHR funded Game of Stones Trial, an RCT examining the effectiveness of a text message intervention, with and without incentives to help men lose weight. Before joining the Unit, she was employed by Glasgow Caledonian University as Trial Manager on the ELECTRIC trial examining tibial nerve stimulation as a treatment for incontinence in care home residents.

Catriona has an extensive range of experience managing research projects centred around behaviour change interventions, in a diverse range of settings, with her previous employers including Edinburgh Napier University, Northumbria Police, and Newcastle Hospitals NHS Trust. In 2017 she completed her PhD exploring an intervention to reduce sedentary behaviour in office workers.

Catriona’s undergraduate degree is in Neuroscience from the University of Sheffield.
